55 223 CI Holley single carb ????

I am sure this is a simple question for the folks that have done this before.

I am rebuilding the single barrel carb and I am at the accelerator pump and it looks like the "spacer?" and spring MUST be removed from the old accelerator diaphram as the new one did not come with one.

The kit came with a new one but it is different than the old one because it does not have the spring and spacer (whatever you call it) I see the small ball bearing but there is a trick to remove it !!

If you have the 1904 this link should help you. Use the arrows to navigate the pages. If the check ball is staked in place it doesn't get removed to clean. This link should be sticky somewhere on FTE.
