IQA on 6.7 injector.

I have read in a lot of places that the 6.7 needs IQA ( injector quantity adjustment) when they get replaced. I have had 2 local Ford dealers say there is nothing to enter when you swap injectors... What is true?

You need to update the PCM/ECU with the IOA code on the injector. Sounds like you need to find a new Ford service dept to visit.

Read the two 6.7 books here. It gives info on the engine and injectors. One is for the 2011-2014 6.7 and the other one is the updates Ford did in the 2015 and newer 6.7. Check page 60 of the 2011 6.7 book. You might want to show it to your service departments.

Coffee Table Books

Also, have the service departments check the following service procedure section for the 6.7 Ford Workshop Manual/DV

SECTION 303-04C: Fuel Charging and Controls — 6.7L Diesel

Then have them read paragraph 3 of the installation procedure...

NOTICE: The PCM is programmed with an IQA code for each fuel injector. If a new fuel injector is installed record the new fuel injector IQA code and cylinder location.

NOTE: If a fuel injector is being reused, make sure to install it in the original location.

Ok thanks! What happens if it doesn't get programmed? Will it usually miss bad or will it not be noticably off if you replace an injector?

Went to 4 Ford dealers in the area and they all say there is no such thing as the IQA adjustment on the 6.7... Is it possible they ALL don't know what they are talking about? I'm very confused.

Any way I could get a picture of the actual Ford manual outlining the procedure to prove that it needs to be done?

Post #2 in this thread gives you all the answers you are asking for.
You must have missed the part where Larry said "Page 60" in the Coffee table book and gave you a link to the books.
I hope This helps.

if they are that dumb then they should be dumb enough to call the hotline and ask ford if you suggest it.

I wish I had a actual Ford manual pic of it explaining it. The Coffee book thing above does say it but it's not official stuff they should be using in the shop. It would be more fun to walk up to them with the exact page on the manual they should be using and showing it to them instead of saying I have buddies online that claim to know more then you do as a dealer.

I believe Larry was even so kind as to give you the section number and paragraph, that it's listed in the FORD Workshop Manual. ????
