Black indented letter painting
#16
I'm 84 and been doing this crap since I started driving at ten, old habits are hard to overcome and I won't.
Yep, cardboard with holes, been there done it, this is how guys win a shows and such, I care little for shows but it is fun to have people gawk at my motor, all looking like it's brand new. Everywhere I go people come running, wanting to see the truck, happened three times in town today. That's half the fun. Paint the bolts ....

The hood reflectors on my '68 are fairly good, not perfect but plenty good enough, my truck is a daily driver, not a trailer queen.
I got this truck almost two months ago, I painted it and did a lot of other work so it's really nice and runs the same. It was time to take the reflectors off and get the letters painted, I did that today and they are back on.
I used a good quality black enamel oil paint, two very small artist brushes, one a lot smaller than the other, took me an hour to paint the FORD letters and the 100, this is tedious work to say the least, it came out about perfect but I was about 'burned out' when done, it's not a job for anybody with the 'shakes' or nervous.
Makes the truck look sharp and complete, do it if you haven't.
