92 ranger/92 bronco swap

Doing a 92 ranger v8 e4od swap with a 302 and an e4od. 4x4.
Build is 99%. I have no power to the Speedo. I can shift manually. So the Speedo is not getting power. Isn't working. Stuck on 0. Won't shift in drive.
Is the speed controller in the 92 ranger in the rear axle or is it in the transfer case?
If it goes in the rear axle does anyone know how or where to buy one? Can I put it in my 8.8?

Please help!!

92 Bronco should use the sensor in the rear axle for the speedo. 92 Rangers I believe use a cable-driven speedo that's driven off the transmission or transfer case. I know the 1st gen Explorers use a cable driven speedo, so the same year Rangers are most likely are the same.

Rangers came with rear ABS during those years (at least some of them did). There will already be a sensor on the axle if it has RABS. If it doesn't have RABS, you'd probably be best off swapping in an axle that does.

Yes, that will work too. I'm assuming they have different models for different axle gear ratios. The sensor on the axle measured wheel RPM, which is unaffected by the gear ratio. By putting the sensor on the driveshaft, the sensor will be reading RPMs anywhere between 2.73 and 5.13 times the wheel RPM, depending on what gear ratio is in the axle.

Disregard. My mechanic is a f****** numb nuts. I have the same g** d*** sensor In my 8.8 rear. I just be to go to a junkyard and get the harness and install it properly. I know that the harness goes from the abs sensor to the transmission. Does it also go to the main wiring harness? Or the computer that runs the transmission? If so do you have any idea on where? I'm just wondering because I need to go to a junkyard and if I need to rip apart Dashboards that I need to go With all of my tools

that signal would pass thru the 4wabs control module located under the washer fluid tank on a fullsize bronco.

if the tooth count on your current ranger 8.8 tone ring is different then you will need to calibrate your PSOM.

OK so it goes to the outside harness not the interior harness? In other words when I'm rubaye this thing out of AF 150 or Bronco I don't need to rip out the dashboard?

Does anyone have any information on exactly what I have to hook up to make the E40D shift? Does the AVS sensor get hooked into the transmission? And that's all I need to make it shift? Or does it go into the transmission and then go into the main wiring harness

On that vintage truck the speed input comes from the rear end to the PSOM in the dash cluster.. that is the middle plug, and from there is carries on to the PCM which in this case controls both the engine and transmission.
