Areo or Jones turbine muffler

Hey there is anyone using the areo or Jones muffler on their 7.3l?? If so do you like it and which model did you go with? Also if you have any videos that would be great I've been thinking about getting the at4040 or At4040xl but not sure about it. Any info would be great thanks

I believe Rich (Tugly FTE name) has/had the Aero and found that mounting it backwards worked better.

I have the muffler that came with the MBRP 4" exhaust system and find it very good for a deep sound when accelerating, but quiet (as a 7.3 can be) when cruising at 65 MPH.

What did mounting the areo muffler backwards help with? Also do you know if it was the 4040, 4040xl ?

I've been trying to get a Aeroturbine 4040xl since April, every month the backorder gets extended a month, cancelled last week when the company I ordered through said late August. I also called Aeroturbine with zero results, pretty sure I emailed them too. I won't run a product if the manufacturer doesn't have time for me.

I've had the Aeroturbine for 10+ years, likely close to 15 years now.

Yeah I've been on aero's site and there out of stock, I contacted Jones turbine mufflers which are identical to the areo turbine only difference is The Aero has a small lip on the air foil ring that sits on top of the louvered core. Jones removed that lip. Air flow and the overall performance remains the same, is what I was told by Jim at Jones turbine mufflers. Price is also lower. I'd like to inform a video so I know what the sound is like on a 7.3l. only one I have found is one with the 3535xl muffler which sounds great

I just installed a 3535xl and it drones a little. Sounds a lot better and not choppy sounding, but is louder than stock.

I also have the 4040xl on my truck, been close to ten years. No regrets and quiet inside. People say it sounds good going down the road, sorry no video of it and right now it is down for u-joints so I can't get you one.

Another option is the FTE resonator. There are some ewetoob videos to get the idea of it. When my Walker BTM rusts out (or I win lotto) I'll be doing the 30" FTE and a custom bent 4" stainless system.

When you do get it up and going again I'd sure like to know what it sounds like, I'm having a hard time finding anything with the 4040xl on the 7.3..most everything I've found is on dodge. Thanks

That's what I'm kinda looking for is a deep throaty sound without the choppy sound in the higher rpm, thanks for the info
