Adding power door locks?

Anybody out there ever added power door locks to their Ranger?
I want to put some on myself, but leave it ready to hook up to an alarm system later...

Do all Rangers have pre-wiring for door locks, or am I going to have to wire everything myself (meaning power and ground etc?)

Thanks!!!

Adding power door locks?

Ive had added a remote lock system and I only had manual locks so the wiring must be there because it didn't take the guy long to get them installed.

No the wires are not there. However it is a very easy job to run wires into the doors on Rangers.

I put power locks in my ranger, but I had them professionally installed when I had an alarm put in it, they only cost me 40 for both, installed, so it can't be that difficult.

There's a lot stuff on ebay that is very low priced (just for the door lock actuators and wiring).

I'm wondering if I should buy the 2-wire setup or the 5-pwire setup? anyways, I am going to try to do it myself, but let some pro put in the alarm system later...

Thanks...

Fyrelyter, what do you consider an arm and a leg. I install profesionally and door locks are cheap $30-$50 depending on if you want switches or not.

So lets see.

DEI alarm with hood pin, shock sensor, LED,........................270.00
two actuators, relay pack, .................................................. ...49.00
optional dome light supervision....................................... .......25.00
optional turn the stereo on with alarm remote.......................25.00
optional turn the cargo light on with alarm remote.................25.00

G. Martin...

That doesn't sound half bad, if your business was anywhere near me...

Where are you from?

I'm from Martinez, CA but you are probably back east somewheres, huh? lol

Anyways, most shops near me want at least $100-$150 just to install door lock actuators (materials + install). I can get actuators on ebay for $2-$15. But if anybody would give me a pretty good deal that lived near me I would get it done by a pro...

Thanks...
