RWD Ball joints installed on 4x4 plunder

Had the ball joints pressed in got home put it together then boom. It was evident the U joint would make contact with the stud when is 4x4 engaged.
Has anyone accidentally done this? The proper part is on the way but will not arrive till Friday and my goal here is to see if I'm clear to drive until then of course in 2wd only.
Thank You

Yes, you can drive it as long as the hubs are unlocked and the transfer case stays in 2WD.

If I may ask where did you source the ball joints?

I know that your new parts are on the way but...could it have been doable and easier to cut that bolt back to an acceptable length with a sawsall instead of removing the whole thing?

Thanks for the replies I've driven around the island over here seems fine in 2wd.

I purchased the part on eBay it's an XRF balljoint are you in the market for a 2wd lower with low miles lol then on the passenger side 5000 miles ago ended up buying a master Dana kit as it needed a new stub shaft In Addition to ball joints (inner seal, dust seal, u joint, stub shaft with seal pre pressed on, ball joints, 3 thrust washers, the vacuum washer, and large o ring) and a timken hub for a smooth full replacement also on e bay.

It may be possible to cut it going to inspect the freshly changed passenger side to reference. Thankfully if it has to come apart again it won't take too long. Then it's steering gear box time the truck should be happy with the ball joints and 4 new tie rods.

Cutting it isn't the way to go. The 4WD version uses a much thinner nut that has an interference thread to keep it from backing off.
