Oil filter question

So as of Wednesday I now own a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac 4.0L V6.
This truck replaces My 2006 Ranger that tried to roll over but, thankfully, decided the driver's side was good enough and got back on it's wheels.
Now I am the 5th owner, 109700 miles.
I want to change the oil/filter so I KNOW when it was last changed.

Now here's my need for enlightenment; looking up the filter I'm seeing both the standard thread and metric thread filters, both saying they will fit my truck???
Are the 3/4"-16 and the M22-1.50 the mystical and magical thread that are actually interchangeable, or is the website screwy?

Thanks for any/all help.

Probably too late now, but if your oil fill is on the passenger side it uses the metric FL-820S. The 2001 ST had an earlier "Job 1" engine that had
some differences including an aluminum intake and different PCV setup. Search 2001 Sport Trac Job 1 vs. Job 2 engines, details can be found.

Figured I'd go to the source and asked Ford. Stopped by my local dealer parts department and had them look it up, turns out from Ford there's only 1 filter. Now with the OEM part number I'm good.

On a side note, my Ranger had the same engine, 4.0L V6, and when I search for the oil filter for that truck I only get 1 version of each filter from the filter manufacturer, when flipping back and forth between screens appears to be the Metric thread. Strange I know.

I had that come up when I replaced the 05 F150 with the 03 Explorer. Both had the same 4.6 V8 but the oil filter is not interchangable. Turns out the tech at the dealership said some of the 4.6's use the V6 oil filter and some use the 5.4 V8 filter. And there is no rhyme or reason. The only way to tell is to cross reference the part number on the filter.

When I finally figured out which one I have I keep the empty box in my tool box.
