HIO Silver I remember seeing this one a long time ago and I like it but how would you go about routing the fill hose to that location ? Would the frame rail be in the way ? My bed is currently off my truck so it is hard for me to look at it right now. Do you by chance know whose truck it is ?

This was done on a Chevy C10 with a tank from a Blazer/Suburban from 60-72. Good write up. Here is a pic of the tank installed.

Dunno to whom the truck belongs. I saw it at a Goodguys show a couple years ago.

It would have to be a side fill tank with the rubber filler tube compressed between the frame and bed (like OEM on a Dentside) or the frame mildly notched with a hard tube.

Wonder if the tube is inside the bed or not?

It took me two attempts but I'm pretty happy with my set up. Mustang tank with a new filler neck that comes out at 70 degrees. The neck I made for the bed comes out at about 45 degrees then drops straight down and then 90 degrees back toward the tank. I don't have the best picture of that piece.

The only issue I've been having is that it fills slow. I'm thinking that is due to the tank not being vented and the fuel getting backed up in the custom filler. Like always if I were to re-do this I would change a few things and try to make it look a little better.

This was the first attempt, the neck funneled down and didn't work well. I don't have a picture after i corrected the issue, but it is 2-1/2" all the way down now.

After the bed liner was in you can see the filler peaking out, and the new tank ready to get modified.

Tanks inc filler neck and flexible filler hose was used. The hose isn't that flexible but it worked. I don't have a picture of that but if anyone is interested I can get under the truck and take some pictures.

Here are a few more pictures. I forgot that on the filler neck coming from the bed I had already welded a smaller tube from my previous attempt and since the bed is already painted and bed lined i didn't want to cut it out to re-do it. So I made a coupler of sorts. to step up to the larger flexible hose. Again if i did this over I would clean this up, but this truck is a driver so I'm not too worried about it.

Filler neck from the bed

Looking toward the tank

The coupler to step up to a larger diameter

From the passenger side above the tank

Another from the passenger side above the tank

Filler neck in the bed. The rounded gusset between the bed floor and wall is not the filler neck. It is a cover over the neck to allow for a larger radius.

Another in the bed.

Here's what I came up with.

I filled in the rear filler and made one on the side with 1.5 tube welded in.

Then went to the JY and then got the door and filler off of a 05 SD.

Inside of bed.

Heres a shot underneath. I know it looks like its running uphill in the pic but it's not.
