power steering bolt

went to a local garage today for my pain in the *** pink slip rego safety check , which in Sydney oz we need to do every year
he went thru it with a fine tooth bombe and said among other things that there is a bolt missing on the power steering block and wont pass it , but when I contacted my supplier of ford parts he said that it was normal and factory didn't put one in ?
so I'm asking before I ring him and tell him what the facts are I need the brains trust and wonder who is right.

I have a 1986 f100 2wd.

Hey Vemax Our steering is on the other side. Ford Oz used a different box and column to the US trucks. Does the steering box have 3 bolts or 4 and if it does have 4 maybe try a falcon bolt if its long enough

It looks like there was a bolt in hole at one time - maybe not for steering box, can't tell from here.
Why not just put a bolt in and be done with it. If there is not a threaded opening in the box for this bolt, then just put a nut on the inside, and the inspector will be happy.
