Help with my 2001 V-10, slight miss, no codes.
I have a 2001 Excursion with the V-10. Two weeks ago, the upper nipple on the radiator cracked and I overheated. Was towed home and replaced the radiator with a quality aftermarket one. I then drove to the whiz wash and cleaned the antifreeze off of the engine.
Immediately I noticed a slight "miss" when cold, particularly when backing out of my driveway. I have no lights on the dash and it is throwing no codes. The miss gets much better (almost gone) when the truck is warmed up.
I am at a loss, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

odds are that you got water into the rear spark plug holes. the recesses can collect water and if the seal around the COP's isn't tight, the water will leak and cause a short while driving.
best bet is to remove the back 3 COP's on each side and dry the recess out. it only takes a little bit of water to cause the issue.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the issue solves itself over the course of the next few days as remaining water boils off. As far as check engine lights, unless you have a California Excursion, your OBD-II is actually a dumb OBD-II. The Excursion didn't meet Federal requirements like small vehicles did. Only the Cali versions did. That's why it takes a massive miss to trigger CEL
