It needs steel wheels, black with chrome hubcaps. I know from experience that those aluminum wheels won't last long if used in a city environment. Black is easiest to touch up after curb scrapes and impacts and steel is much cheaper to replace if bent. Aluminum wheels crack instead of bending and disable the vehicle when that occurs.

Our department pickups have been Fords for years, but lately they bought some Chevy trucks. Probably has more to do with bidding than anything else.

I'm sure those wheels are just for marketing purposes.
When vetting the Taurus, Ford said they used steel wheels to pass the curb jumping test (I think the tires/wheels have to survive a 30 or 35 mph curb jump. Probably 99% of police vehicles have steelies

The US Border Patrol will be the big customer for these.

I can't see my State Wildlife agency buying these - they insist on hiring Game Rangers with a minimum of a B.Sc. [they prefer graduate degrees] in biology/zoology/similar degree and paying them less than what the local deputy sheriffs make with only a H.S. education. Heck, they are still driving around in 12 to 14 Ram trucks.

I am pretty sure on the driver's side (left) it will be the right way, and the passenger side (right) it will appear backwards. I can only assume it is because if you viewed an actual flag as it was blowing to the left, it would appear that way.

The Canadian flag looks the same regardless of wind direction since it is symetrical, so I can only assume.

Flag is always backwards on the "right" side facing forward.

The agencies that use pickups now will use this truck.

Agencies that use the Taurus and Explorer pursuit vehicles will not be happy with the 100 mph top speed. So I can't see Ford picking up anymore customers. It will be better for those smaller agencies that have been using pickups as pursuit vehicles in the past.

In the article I read, they called it a "Responder" and that other vehicles Ford offers the police are "Interceptor" for high speed pursuit. I assume the F-150 will be used for rural applications and off-highway use calls. Likely for community out-reach programs too I would think.

For getting into "secluded areas" where crimes often occur, it could be just what they need.

Most cities around me that use trucks, do so for towing their speed monitor displays, as well as possibly tow confiscated trailers. Seen a couple Eagan PD under cover Ram 1500s just the other day. With the under cover you would never be able to tell that it was the police.
