The owners manual says 5 quarts, the kid at advance auto says 6 qts, Which is it? Oil and filter change.

Thanks

Should be 6 with filter; that's what my manual says for my F150 5.8L and experience has shown ~5.5+ quarts needed but not quite 6. I just dump 6 in and be done with it.

I thought there was a note in the manual that says to add an additional quart (6 total) if changing the filter. I haven't looked at my owners manual in a while so I might be wrong about that.

My '93 5.0 4x4 takes 6 quarts with filter. The 4x4 oil pans hold 5 quarts, plus an additional ~quart for the filter.

I just fill it until it overflows out of the oil fill cap, sort of like you do with differentials.
