Flatlander Truckfest Lives!

I just got back from Pere Marquette State Park. Popular Vacation Destination minutes from St. Louis, Mo
I reserved 27th & 28th of April 2018. Cabins have a queen and a sofa bed, Rooms are two queens all are 135.00 a night. If you want to stay longer they have Good availability the following week. I reserved 2 cabins and 10 rooms.

May is already booked and I was afraid any earlier in April might be pushing cold weather.

When you call for reservations tell them your with the FTE group. Please PM me when you make your reservations.

Mapping routes now! I will talk with the boss to clear the schedule.
Maybe I could convince her to join me. The location looks great, not sure she could handle the drive in my truck though.

By that time you'll have your floormat, headliner, and firewall pad in and it will be a lot quieter. And April won't be too hot.

Great to hear your planning on coming. There usually are families and knowledgeable folks that share their knowledge of stuff. But other power trains sometime attend as well.

Just keeping this post alive.
Have been looking at things we can do: Budweiser Brewery tour, trip to the Arch, drive the EADs Bridge (post civil war. Construction), St. Louis Zoo, day trip to Missouri’s 1st State Capital, St Charles (Casinos), Alton (just down the river road) has antique shopping and a Casino too. A bit longer trip, 70 miles up the Mississippi, is Hannibal MO, Mark Twains ole stomping grounds. I thought a Ferry ride across the Illinois or Mississippi River might be fun but it’s up to you all.
Not sure what everyone would like to do. Thought?

BJ, I had forgotten all about your event. I'm always up for an adventure. I'll do what I can to, "See you in St. Louis". I'd be interested in seeing Hannibal, MO, but it's probably too far for your group if it's 70 miles one way.

There was some interest in folks staying longer. The Hotel says they can accommodate. There’s a lot to do here in St Louis but I wanted to keep the “get together” a weekend so folks didn’t have to take off work. I live here so barring my wife’s cancer preventing it I’ll be available if folks want to stay longer and want to see more of St Louis. I wanted to try to get us parked with the Arch in the back ground but they’ve remodeled and I don’t think we can get between it and the Mississippi River now.

Will try to get a group picture here. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piasa

I'm hoping to make it as well. Now it all depends on my father in laws health at the moment.
Another trip could be to go see Country Classic cars. No telling what it is like after the fire.

We could Joe. We drove by it last month and it looked pretty good. Still had lots of vehicles.

Looks like just a six hour drive for me. I may have to go.
