Swapping a F350 460 7.5L into a F250 460. 7.5L
Hi everyone,
I'm wanting to put a new engine in my 1988 Ford F250 that has a 460 7.5L engine it in. I do a lot of traveling over Snoqualmie Pass and I drive horses trailers a lot. So I was looking into a newer year engine that would have a little more power but that gets me better gas mileage then the engine I have now. So I'm wonder if I could but in like a 1990's F350 engine into my 1988 f250 and will it be compatible with all the wiring and harness.
and wanting to get other people's opinion on if I should put the f350 460 in or just put a new f250 460 engine into my truck.
Thank you.

I'm knee deep in my first 460 build. I came across something recently that might interest you. I'm swapping an '89 for a '90. I didn't think there would be any differences because they are the same generation f series. the fuel rails on my '89 connect up by cylinder 1 where as the '90's fuel rail connects back above the bell housing. Not incredibly important but there are some differences even between one year.
