Cheap mods to gain horsepower
#16
Yeaaa you probably need to read more and look at some peoples combos down below√
Stage 2s will need a non drop in type turbo and yet even more supporting mods. You said you didn't want to spend much but you are in the 6-8k mod range to do correctly plus a 4500 trans, suspension etc.
160cc injectors are more than the puny stock or drop in turbos really can cool get wise.

If you want to spend 10 grand to use stage II and up with reliability then go stage II with the supporting MODs. Personally my truck is for work, with the occasional on ramp WOT run. So I went the stage 1 route. I'd do those WOT runs A LOT more if I had a built trans. But since I don't, I baby it.
If you want to spend under 5K, I'd get Stage 1 sticks from Rosewood/Custom Tunes. EGT/Boost/Trans temp gauge. 6637 air filter. That will wake the stock truck up considerably. It's night and day. My favorite is when it's in OD on the highway cruising at 65, you can lean into the throttle just enough to spike the boost to 30PSI and it just sprints to 100 MPH or 1300 degrees on the EGT whichever comes first haha.
From there you can chip away fuel/HPOP/Turbo/Trans and other supporting MODs so if the itch comes to go bigger you will be ready. I'm having my water/meth kit installed today mainly to keep it cool while towing. However I'll be curious to see if I feel any butt dyno increase.

You're confusing me. you said cheap mods. The things you're listing are many thousands of dollars. You must have one of those fancy jobs to where injectors, turbo, trans, HPOP, efuel, head studs, chip, gauges etc is being discussed as cheap

it wasn't a waste I was looking for different POVs all was appreciated I just think stage one would probably be best for me as far as money and performance goes

My initial list of mods should have been my stopping point. I would suggest such.
3"/4" exh
6637 type or cai
Chip
Gauges
Efuel
T500
I had bellowed up pipes and no exh/oil leaks. I also had deleted the ebpv valve .
It went from 19psi then efuel&t500 cleaned up ALL exh haze and made 29 psi max. There are good gains to be had but even at that point it dynoed 200hp and 360tq.
Just make sure its running properly before leaning on it.

No,pressure regulated by the IPR. Its all about volume needed by the injectors under load. The larger pump when demanded via IPR can produce more volume where a stocker will increase duty cycle but run out of steam in some instances.

Ahh I see I see. So the t500 is just a drop In hpop no need for cutting new lines or anything like that?
