Actuator difficulties 04' F150 Lariat
My truck's AC is cold only about 10% of the time. If I am idling in park when I first start it up and the engine is cold it will blow cold, but the second I put my foot on the gas it starts to heat up again. It's July in Texas and I am without AC...
- What I have tried to do to fix the issue....
Purged and Recharged the AC.... before I recharged it I wasn't thinking and I took the valve cover off the hot line and it hissed at me, its not supposed to do that. Then I noticed the condenser isn't like leaking, it's more like sweating near the seals.... I digress. Purging and Recharging AC worked for about 30min... then the same thing happened, hot air... I did some research and I heard about the actuator and that on Ford Trucks they are notorious for failing around 100,000+ miles... I got to it through the glove box, although it is cramped I could still reach it.
**My main question is, How do you get into the actuator to flip the failed switch from hot to cold WITHOUT tearing up the dash. I know there is a way....
