Questions on 2016 Hi-roof extended Transit Vam
Don't know if this is the proper place to post this but here goes. Wife and I are thinking of buying a used 2016 Hi-roof extended Transit van to "convert and use as a traveling tool. Know we don't want a diesel, which of the remaining two gas engines is the better? What options would you recommend , we are both over 65, ? Anything to stay way from? Currently have a 2006 E250 that I bought used(former U-haul) in 2008 with 16,000 now has 90,000 Love it. Any and all comments pro or con would be welcome. Looking to purchase Jan?Feb 2018. Thank you in advance

Both are pretty stout. The base motor is plenty of power for most situations, in fact, other than the diesel, it's the ONLY option for the chassis cab models of transits so I've put plenty in service with heavy loads and no complaints. That being said, the 3.5 EB is a banshee. Now perhaps over 65 folks don't care about such things, but it will get you out onto the highway in a hurry. The difference in gear ratios between the two motors means both get about the same fuel economy. I would go for the ecoboost, and I think both options will give you more under the hood space than the old econolines, which is a nice change.
