I notice that the seller on ebay says they bought the shorty headers, being sold separately from the intake, from 'Jack' Clifford. I know Jack passed at least 10 years ago, and the co hasn't been called that since.
I notice the intake has the water heat, so it's not that old....
Quite a pricetag.

Cliff is still selling that outfit for $1,389. "Wow, for $39 more I could buy a new one straight from Clifford! I am amazed that Clifford doesn't sell that intake w/o the carbs!
Knowing that Clifford simply repackages, it makes me wonder who is making that intake for them. (I guess Offenhauser.)
I am a bit saddened to see Cliff now only sells 17 items for the 240/300. At one time he had heaps of items for the bb6. I believe his shrinking line of parts representative of the aftermarket support for our engines nation wide.
I know the cliff. return policy, or lack there of, is bad, but why wouldn't the owner get a refund? It makes me wonder if the ebay items were bought, and that person was gathering parts when they passed. I have a feeling that if they don't come down in price, the ebay set up will be there for a while.

To build it yourself you'd need a good mig welder, which is pricey, and you'd need to experience to use it well. Then all the fitting, welding, grinding, purchasing gas and rod, a junk head to test the fit.... And, you'd need to figure out a way to install a coolant passage, unless you're only driving it occasionally like the custom ones you see on youtube.
If you are set up for it, and want to spend a large piece of time doing it, then yes. But for a daily driver, for the average Joe, I'd say go the used Offy route. Bolt it on and shazam!
