Hey everyone I'm working on my 96 powerstroke F250 with about 180k on it. When I turn the key to the ON position nothing happens. No lights in the dash, no stereo, nothing. Figured out that my fender mounted starter solenoid blew so I replaced it and voila, truck powers up like normal when I turn the key ON but the solenoid blew again when I tried to actually turn the motor over. Really lost here please help.

 

I would guess check all your grounds.

 

Sounds like either the cable going to the starter is shorted to the frame or the starter maybe bad. At least that's where I would start looking.
