07 F150 Rear Swap

Whats up folks, Im new here my name is John.

Currently driving an 07 F-150 5.4L V8 with 410 rear (10.25 ring gear)

When I bought the truck, I wasnt traveling for work much, but now that I am traveling, taching 2100-2200 at 65 isnt cutting it for fuel economy.... and who really does the posted speed limit anyway???

Looking to change rear gears to either 373 or 355.

Keep in mind Im not lookin for a racer, I want a highway cruiser. As far as towing or loading up the truck bed with weight.... I dont pull much weight when I do, trailer and a lawn tractor. Wintertime, throw the ATV in the bed and go to town snowplowing.

Has anyone here done a swap on this truck? And can recommend a rear ratio to me?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Two wheel drive or 4?

If 4wd, you must also change the front axel gears to match the rear.

I have a 2002 4x4 5.4 with a 3.55 rear end... Does great on a day by day basis on the road... I pull a 9K trailer several times a year without problems.

3.55:1 would be great. Considering your fairly light loads, maybe you should consider the 3.31:1 that came in the '07 4.2L (I don't know if that is a 10.25: rear). Anyway the 3.55:1 would definitely be a huge departure from the 4.10:1 you now have and would make it into a freeway cruiser for sure. I don't believe the 3.73:1 would show you enough difference to be worth the time and expense.

My choice in that situation would be 3.55
