The more I read he more confused I get RE:PCV Valve

Where is it? Is it on the drivers side valve cover? Or is it on the passenger side leading up to the rear of the intake? I see what looks like a PCV valve on the drivers side but i can not get it out its stuck. Maybe I am looking at the wrong side. I have looked a videos and write ups and they all seam to say something different. This is a 99 2v 5.4 if its not in the sig.

"171 and 174 are VACUUM LEAKS......... look for a bad vacuum hose under the hood. on a 20 year old truck, take one off at a time and check it out for cracks / hard / leaks........... the two above the drivers side valve cover that go to the EGR system are suspect.. they set real close to the exhaust manifold......... check PCV hose also."

I looked and some of the symptoms of a stuck valve and I do not have any of them.

Sorry for the noob question. A true picture would be great!!!

I believe mine is on the passenger side valve cover, next to #2 COP ( coil) . The plastic PCV valve pushes into the valve cover o-ring, then the hose ( about 3/4 inch) pushes onto the valve . .............. by the codes your looking not for a bad PCV valve, but for a leak in the hose to it ..... normally the leak will be in the smaller 1/4 inch size vacuum hoses around the motor, to the firewall, etc........... the elbow at the back of the intake is also a possibility.

again, the valve in not your problem, a leaking rubber hose is the problem.

inside the passenger fender, above the fender well there is a vacuum canister and a couple hose run to it ( back by the air conditioner dryer)... you could also have a leak in one of those hoses, or a crack in the canister ( if the truck has been hit on that side ?)
