I've switched my mindset away from "don't make small improvements to the house in places we're going to remodel anyway" towards making short-term improvements... Step one is some cabinets in the laundry room:

Huh...interesting stuff...I've contemplated one of these before and really could never justify the expense of one. It appears that my gut instinct was correct...

After fighting with the project Chevelle I am finally happy with the way she is running. I swapped carbs between the cars and overhauled the projects car carb again (did it at least 4 years ago) but ethanol got it. I have it on the restored car, it is well adjusted now and the car has plenty of power. I did find my water pump shaft is bad on the restored car. Another project.

I haven't been super active on the forums lately, but on Monday the 22nd we had to put our 15 year old American Eskimo Ladybug to sleep. We had a vet home to the house, she was surrounded by family on her own bed. She was such a sweet dog and minded so well. She really went down hill fast, deaf, mostly blind and hard time walking. It's been a hard week because I can't stop looking for her subconsciously or think I hear her collar jingle.
I know most of you are also dog lovers and know the heartache.

There is something special about the relationships with dogs and people. Always tough when we lose a friend or member of the "pack". For those of you who have an older dog (like me), having a second younger dog makes the transition easier... never easy, but easier. I don't think I could go out and get a puppy right after losing a long time companion.
Living in the same place for many years in a rural area, my yard has many a dog buried. Each dog has a tree on top as a reminder ... so it's like a forest around my home and it makes me smile all the time.
