Well, eight days after Stay Puft died the wife's car got totaled in Houston. Thankfully they escaped much more well off than I did the in the roll - as in not even a bump or scrape.
UNfortunately, that meant that my budget for vehicles shifted as she needed a new vehicle and I did as well. The savings I had allotted towards a replacement X had to get broken into down payments and such for two new vehicles, and I had ONE day to find and purchase suitable ones for our needs both separate and as family vehicles.
2015 Ram 1500 Laramie for me, 2013 Escape Titanium for her. Both combined for under $45k OTD, hers has 60k and mine 33k for mileage. Every conceivable bell and whistle on both as well as full manufacturer warranties.
Not thrilled it's not another X, but it wasn't in the timeline cards this time. One day makes things hard and beyond stressful. Having said that, I love this truck...

Congrats Matt, it's a step in the right direction! Hoping both will serve you well for years to come. Both look great and very clean

Miles per tank is down substantially, but hand calculations yield damn near identical freeway mileage. Took me a minute to realize I now have a 20ish-gal smaller tank
Down the road another X will be in the future for sure, the kiddos are sprouting hard and fast, and room will become a much needed commodity. I'm hoping to have my API 1169 and CPWI by then, so financially a 2015 conversion will be a very real possibility.

That was me last month when I bought the Ex. I'm developing a love/hate relationship with the 6.0 - I've been super lucky to have received a very healthy engine, but Ford made them way too complicated.

When I soldered more often at work I had a set of tweezer soldering tips that made setting components like that on straight real easy. Spent most my time swapping out 8-10 pin MCUs like the one up by the 122 in your second pic.
