Just from what I can see, the radiator is sitting just about right relative to the saddle, but the saddle is mounted in the 6 cylinder position on the frame. For the v8, it was moved back to the other set of holes in the frame crossmember.

On my ’56, the “horseshoe” has four fine thread nuts welded on it. The bolts go through the flange on the radiator and are threaded into these nuts. The flange mounts on the outside of the horseshoe. You can adjust the height by using different holes in the radiator flange; mine had four holes per side but I do not know if that is original. I use a spacer between the radiator flange and horseshoe to mount the radiator closer to the fan.

So I got back working on the truck. Went to move the radiator and realized that there is only one hole on the upper crossmember. The radiator horse shoe has two stud. Should I drill anther hole to mount it or do I have the wrong horseshoe.
Thanks
Dan

On my 49, if I can remember correctly there were two sets of holes in the valley of the "horse shoe". Approx three or so inches on center and another row forward about 2 plus inches. I used the front row to give more room in the engine bay.

The 6 cyl position.

The horse is mounted in the correct position 682bear is talking about an F1 , it appears you have a 55 or 56 but that radiator looks as though it sits high. I'm wondering if the rad is the wrong one..I'll look for a picture of mine in a 56
