Recently I've been experiencing light throttle misfiring and hesitation in my 2008 Escape V6. This happens when accelerating from a stop up until around 40 mph. The check engine light is not on. I took it into a repair shop, but they said they couldn't fix it because there was no fault code stored. They told me they drove it with the scanner attached and could see it misfiring, but they couldn't determine a cause. This started out very intermittent, but has continued to get worse, still there's no code. Anyone have an idea what it might be?

 

Yep same problem as you desribe. Did you figure out what it is

 

Check out the coil packs. More than likely one of them is bad and won't show a code if intermitant.
