1954 F250 Build in Iowa

I put a Dana 60 in with 3.73 gears. My old one had issues and after reading about the high RPM's with the low gear ratio I thought it might be nicer to drive if I swapped it out. Speed is determined by the RPM of the engine and gear ratios. I don't think the 292 will make any difference, other than it will handle the 3.73 gears better since it has more power. I'm sure my speed will still be limited unless I want to run high engine RPM's.

The truck has been at the body shop for quite a while but he is getting close! It is so exciting to see some color on it finally! He was almost done but ran out of paint so he had to get more mixed, but it didn't match. After a couple attempts they figured out the first batch wasn't mixed properly. He ended up re-painting several parts so they would all match. He will have plenty to do the bed when I am ready. Sounds like he will have it ready for me next week, but with the constant winter weather around here I am not sure when it will make it back home so I can take over working on it again. We keep getting pounded with snow, ice, rain, more snow, etc! It hasn't let up at all. The roads will need to be pretty clean to bring it home.
The interior firewall, cab floor, and behind the seat will be raptor liner. He also did the inside of the fenders. Hoping this will help cut down on some noise. Seeing the grill on sure made my day!

I was able to pick up the truck a couple weeks ago while the roads were still frozen, just before leaving on vacation. It's still hard to believe it's sitting in my garage now. I am almost scared to touch it, or even walk around it for fear of putting a scratch on it! How the heck am I gonna finish putting it together?!

Yep it does run! I had it running and drove it a couple blocks last Fall with a rigged up gas tank and slightly sketchy wiring to the coil. I am going to start on the doors and get them working before I start on the electrical. Lot's to do!
