The eBay ones are made by others, and you really have to be careful with them because their quality is not necessarily proven. That's the route I went with the seller I mentioned above (usautonation) when I was trying to save a few dollars, and it turned out OK, but I would pay the extra to get the much more professional appearance from the Seat Shop. Those guys have it down pat and have been doing this for a long time, and they won't mess around with shortchanging anything.

Another option is to go through Leatherseats.com. I haven't purchased from them but seem to have good reviews and easy tutorials online to help the DYI'er.

You want to change the pad as well. The cover material will age prematurely on an the old worn pad.

Third party is already the only option for most of the wearable seat portions (pads and covers) as Ford does not seem to be making any more. Some pieces are still available but I think that Ford has discontinued manufacturing (or sourcing) them and once the stock is gone then they'll be officially discontinued. I know that when I did my driver's seat last year I could only get the upper pad (seat back) from Ford. The lower pad was discontinued as were the upper and lower covers.

I went with The Seat Shop and it was a perfect fit as well as a perfect match. They may be a little more expensive than others but they have good stuff. I think you can even get full leather covers now instead of just the OEM center section.

Yes, The Seat Shop has full 100% leather covers, but they are about $90 extra per seat in comparison to the OEM pleather configuration (that's for front captains chairs, and the actual upcharge varies based on trim and option choices).

I wish I had looked for this thread about 3 months ago. Had a local upholstery shop redo my front seats. Hand made, 1,600. Looks very good.

Need the back seat done. will look at other options.

I wish that option was available when I bought mine. The Seat Shop covers (and pads) are great, fit perfect, and are an exact match. You wouldn't know the difference. Worth the price IMO.

I did not have the option to 'refresh' my driver's seat as it was split down the side and all across the front on the bottom pad.

Yeah, I love that center console. It's HUGE inside and is the perfect height for an arm rest! The tactile rubber-like surface is also great for not letting things just slide around while driving (unless you hit a curve to aggressively, that is).

Replaced my front seat covers using Seat Shop. I'm definitely pleased !

Did it all by myself, but a partner would certainly make it easier. Not a hard DIY !

Don't believe you, prove it! (Pics please!) LOL.

Did you heat the cover or the foam to restore or how did you stretch it all out?

Ours really needs it but I am worried about wrinkles.

Watch the video on UTube, that will show you more than any photos.

I did lay the covers out on concrete d/w in the sun for a while, but it really wasn't that hard for me. Getting the velcro attached in the indentations is what keeps the wrinkles out of the leather.

My foam was ok, I did the covers before the foam got bad.

I did have a few JD's, AFTER getting the covers on !

Very cool. I need to do my Excursion, and my CC F250 as well. Good to know that it's not to difficult of a job. Thank you sir.
