A Great Man that I called my Hero and Dad

These Bikers came together through Facebook post so my dad could have one last ride he served in Vietnam , my dad is on the trike we used to Hoyer lift to get him on the trike and I must say I was more worried about him falling over when I saw him leaning but come to find out he was telling the gentleman that was in control of the bike to move to the side so that he could see what was coming his way
My dad is in the wheelchair and his brother is standing beside him both veterans both served my dad was in the Army as a sharpshooter and my uncle was in the Navy as a mechanic highly-decorated for aircraft
Shortly after the ride my dad was home he always said I was a pain in his back side but it was my pleasure
This is what we say to cancer my brother to the left a great man I call my dad in the center and myself to the right my dad left this world after a fight since 2012 with lung cancer and brain cancer yesterday 3:30 p.m. he served this country well wasn't always the best to live with was firm and Stern but loved us all and loved this country and what it stood for and told us no matter what my Heritage was or culture is that as long as I loved this country and stood firm and in what it stood for and protected those who are weak or frail, orphans or widows and to stand against those who threaten this country and love your family regardless is what a true American then he did his job ....This photo was taken before we ended up taking him to the hospital
He always told me to get that damn camera out of his face I'm glad I never did I miss my dad
I know we're giving the bird in a photo and I hope people don't get offended and if so then there's something wrong with you I posted this and I know it is not truck related but this man served our country and he played a huge role in my life for those of us who have been fortunate enough to have a real man in your life that you could call Dad and father and have lost him you should know my pain. I'm a grieving son and this form is my family as well we live in Washington State I know things will never be the same but damn now he knows all my secrets and skeletons in my closet... I love you Dad and I miss you till we meet again . I apologize if some of these sentences jump around or run on like I said it is a hard moment I'm dealing with the loss of my dad so take the time to love those in your family and if your dad is there with you tell him you love him or your children ,women give birth to our young ones but is us as REAL MEN who guide and mold them for our future .

Sorry for your loss.
I was where you are today 10 years ago.
Will say a prayer for your family.

sorry for your loss. It's clear to me that your dad was a big part of your life. It's hard to say goodbye, but maybe a little comfort that he isn't suffering anymore.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I know it doesn't ease the pain, but take comfort knowing he is in a better place and is free of pain.

Cancer sucks!

My condolences on the loss of your father. Respect for coordinating the last ride. I'll bet he loved every second of it! Thanks to your father and all Vets for their service and sacrifice

So very sorry for your loss. I feel your pain as I lost my father a few years ago. He sounds like one heck of a father, friend and roll model. Take comfort in knowing his last wishes were granted and you were able to spend time with him in his final days.

Sorry for the loss of your Dad...noticed the 2nd Armored Cap he had on. My late Dad was also in the 2nd Armored in WW2. I was also in during the Vietnam era but I was in the Air Force and never had to make the trip to the jungle. May your Dad R.I.P.

I'm with you too... Leukemia in 2009. Seems like yesterday and while the hurt never goes away, it does get easier...
