How hard is it to pull the transmission out from the underside?
1949 F-1 three speed on the floor.
When I had the interior done I specifically told them not to glue down the carpet. So they didn't just glue it, they must have used every can of spray adhesive in a 20 mile radius. I could probably get it out, but it would be like skinning a moose.
But...the transmission started making a very ugly metal on metal noise so I pulled the drain plug and the oil was nice a sparkly and included some toothpick diameter fragments. So there's no question it needs to come out.
Can I get it out the bottom without pulling the engine? Although pulling the engine might be easier than pulling the carpet.

With the shifter removed, I think you can do the yoke bolts and rear mount OK. I think you can pull it all with the engine. It won't be fun... It all depends on clearance on the top of the trans. The plate on top of the trans with the foam is tight against the cover. By removing the rear cushion from the cradle, you should gain 2" - 3" of clearance.
