ALBERTA CHAT - Forevere more!

Figured might as well get this going now that spring has moved on out of the way!

Finished up the second period of my apprenticeship this morning, barely squeaked by on the TQ exam but I made it! Back to work for 10 months now and then back to SAIT for third period. Looking forward to getting back in to the groove of things next week and start making some money again!

Summer? I guess that means it hail season. Once again I'm hoping for a major hailstorm to pound my seasonal towing truck so i can get a payout.

I am the opposite, not a ding on my Titan and I'd like to keep it that way. Might ask my boss if I can store it in the tractor shop at work for the summer lol.

Well, it's all about where you are on the depreciation curve. I've been buying heavily used trucks these last few years, so I'm paying a lot less for them, and they are generally a little beat up. if I got the right hail storm on this truck I could get a cheque for about what I paid, and it still wouldn't be a write-off so i could keep it. That's the dream.
Last summer I insurance cut me a $4000 cheque on a truck that I paid $8900 for, and I was able to sell it for $8000 at the end of the season without fixing the hail dents. That truck (a GMC) was great for me, and I hated it.

Hey Alberta folks. I'm going to be heading there next week. Going to spend a few days in Devon at the Lions campsite.

You bring this heat with you? I'm not into this. Just rigged up some water misters in my back yard and stocked up on cheap beer.

Haven't heard from perry. I'm hanging out at Lake Windermere this week, and it's only a little smoky here. I hear cowtown is covered with ash and smoke. Gross. I may never come back.

Well, my friends like to complain. I won't complain though, life at the lake this week is outstanding. I'm annoying the little fish in this lake most mornings, and drinking beer most afternoons.

Wind, rain and hail tonight depending on your location. I'm in town for a week before I head east on another family trip.

Wind out here in Airdrie. Parked my truck in the barn at work the other week in case of hail. Next year will have my own house with a bigger(hopefully) garage that can fit my truck and my bike. Stupid attached double garages being crap small!
