I am cold, I can only dress so warm. I`d rather not skip winter.

Some bird species have figured out how to skip winter. I wonder if humans can emulate their behaviours . . . . .

There's some bushy looking birds that show up at the feeder, they must grow an extra layer of feathers for the winter.

They just ruffle their feathers to trap in air for extra insulation Perry

That's what they want you to think, the truth is much darker. The strong ones kill and eat the weaker ones and pluck the softest feathers out of the carcass to insert into their own plumage to create an extra dense coat. So when you see an extra puffy chickadee, you are looking at a murderer.

The Mourning Doves are looking like grey chickens and the Northern Flickers are probably chickadee murderers, the blue Jays are carrying bat like clubs. I wonder if there's crack or meth for the birds, should ask the junkies that show up for the anti safe injection site meeting tomorrow night.

The grackles that come through in the springtime make me want to murder things. So noisy, and not even a pretty bird. Did see a whole bunch of Bohemian Waxwings up on nose hill a couple of weeks ago. Now those are good birds.

Were the waxwings waxed or just pie eyed.
