E4OD Maxlife ATF vs Mobil 1

I have a 95 E350 Clubwagon I bought recently to transport the Amish (it's my Yoder Toter!). It only had 120k miles so the drivetrain is in great shape. The transmission shifted smooth as silk so to maintain it I had the fluid replaced with maxlife at jiffy lube. With the maxlife in it the shifts were much harder than before & it just didn't function as well. After several thousand hard miles towing trailers I had it changed to mobil 1 and it's back to smooth shifting again. IMO mobil 1 is a much better choice for the E4OD.

They put Valvoline Maxlife in at jiffy lube as far as I know. I was disappointed at their method of drawing out a few quarts then adding a few - the last time I had it done they let the tranny pump out old & draw in new for a complete exchange. Oh well now I know better.

I had to flush mine with synthetic on my '92 to get rid of my shudder when the converter would lock-up. I used the Napa brand and its worked well so far. Only a couple thousand on it so far though.
