Getting ready to tow my TT...what to inspect?

I've had my 2010 F-250 6.8L V10 for almost a week and installing ProPride 3P towing package this weekend in hopes of getting to campground next week.

What do I need to inspect to ensure a safe experience?
- I would think the shocks
- leaf springs

And other then the really obvious...oil, tranny fluid, brake fluid/pads

What should I be inspecting prior to hooking up my TT?

I saw your thread on what to check with the truck...looks like you received a pretty good list started.

For the camper, might want to verify everything works...refridgerator, AC, hot water, etc. Check all tires' pressure. Crawl under the camper and make sure brake wiring is tied up and wrapped to prevent wire damage, inspect springs and shackle bolts. Check (by feel or infrared temperature gun) trailer tires and hub temperature whenever you stop. I do this to check for bearing or brake issues. After you get home from first trip check camper tires for strange wear patterns.

Might put a lock on your hitch or at least glance at it after you've stopped at a rest stop. I have friends that found someone undid their hitch at a rest stop...luckily they caught it before pulling away. Throw a couple good wheel chocks in the bed of the truck in case you have to park on a hill at a rest stop or some place. Good luck !

I would also check the age of the trailer tires.
I just had one blow this week and it was not fun.
I would not use tires older than 5 years old.
