1967 Econoline Gambler 500 build

Howdy folks. Thought you guys might get a kick out of this. First off don't worry, we're not destroying a classic. We're giving a rusty beat up old scooby van a new lease on life. (A short lease probably). Hopefully I don't get banned for blasphemy

This van was my daily driver in college and was also my pizza delivery vehicle. Before it got parked it was using a quart of oil every day. I switched to motor honey and it would go two days and give me like 3-4 oil pressures. So yeah, the last few months of driving it were kinda rough. Finally even motor honey couldn't keep the mains and rod bearings quiet anymore so the van got parked in a field awaiting future repair (or scrap prices to go up).
That was in 1999.

Learned a few weeks ago that they're running one of these here in Iowa https://gambler500.com and it was decided that a 50 year old Econoline that hadn't run in almost 20 years would be the perfect candidate.

Honestly, I had kind of forgotten about it and probably haven't seen it in 10 years or so. This is what she looked like after sitting in the field for almost 2 decades.
