But It's A Dry Heat

I was wanting to pound some dents out. I waited until 4pm, but still pretty hot inside the garage.

Every day here has been over a 100 since last Friday, and more to come. So I'm headed for the coldest place in the Rockies for a few days! The lows will be in the 40's, highs will be about 75, can't wait!

Me and the grand-kids have been hanging out in the pool. I don't plan on much work to my truck until late fall or winter. When all the folks in cold country call it quits.

"But it's a dry heat". Not when you sweat like I do.

When the weather is uncomfortable, at least you can still see your truck.

The next person who says, "but its a dry heat" is going to get decked. I've lived in Southern Arizona since 1951 and I can verify that yes there is a lack of humidity; however, anything over 110 F is just too damn HOT. I survived the 122 F in Phoenix in June 1990 and have the tee shirt to prove it. I spent part of that afternoon waiting in line to get my car emissions inspected. I lived in Mesa for over 30 years and learned there are only two temperatures in The Valley of the Sun, Hot and Oh My Gosh. I am surviving the 116 here in Tucson by submerging my body in the 84 F degree water of the swimming pool but my head is still in the blast furnace air. Any work that gets done on the truck in the garage is done from 5:00 am to around 10:00 am. No I am not moving to someplace cooler in the summer because those places have BUGS and I know better. O.K. my rant is over.

I may be able to see my truck when my weather is uncomfortable, but I don't dare touch it without an oven mitt.

I just arrived home from a vacation in southern California... the drive between Indio, Ca and Phoenix hovered between 116 and 121 all afternoon Monday...

I'm glad Ford designed a good cooling system for our rental Exploder... I kept an eye on it all day.

Flying out of Phoenix yesterday afternoon was another adventure in itself... especially flying standby.

I'm sorta glad to be home in the humid southeast... thats what I'm accustomed to...

80 degrees and sunny here in Michigan today. 57 tonight. Perfect weather. When it gets cold we just turn on the furnace in the garage.

90 degrees and 87% humidity is way worse than 110 dry heat
its all what your body is used to. I wear long sleeves all summer and you get used to it.

High humidity SUCKS, if you happen to sweat heavily it's even worse because there's no cooling effect, such as it is, and this causes even more sweating. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are serious conditions, make sure you're eating regular and getting plenty of fluids.

It gets about 125 degrees in our garage in Chandler and I am working to remedy that. Put insulation on the garage door (didn't do crap ALTHOUGH it is a nice sound deadener) and now working on getting and exhaust fan to get the air out followed up by A/C...... WIll be worth the investment seeing I am always wanting to do SOMETHING in the garage besides sweat!!
