Another efi to carb question/head swap?
I did a search and read everything I can find but nobody mentioned how the cool weather drivability is with no heat cross over when you bolt a carb to an efi 460 with the stock heads.
I have a donor truck found and want to put the 460/ZF into my 59 f250 4x4. People have scavenged the ECM and some other stuff so I don't want to try and find all the stuff to keep it efi. Should I just do a head swap too so I can have carb heat? I think the truck is 89-90. I have tried to read all I can but there is a whirling eddy of piston dish and installed height, combustion chamber and port design, what plays well together and what doesn't. I also have a 429 with D0VE heads, probably too much? How about D3VE? I want to run pump regular gas, which is 85 octane here.
