NC FTE Fall Fling 2017 Edition

Last year we got out to Badin Lake for the fall dinner along with weekend camping and some fishing. We went around the Middle of October. I know a few members have also mentioned some interest about getting out again this year. So Let's hear some dates for the Fall fling at Badin Lake.

September is pretty much out for me. October is iffy. I'll wait to see what dates get tossed around and will have to play it by ear.

I'd like to go but can't commit at this time.

October Options:

7-8
14-15
21-22
28-29

I haven't checked Camp Site availability, once we narrow down the dates I'll start tracking that. The Jeep club is pulling an East Coast Invasion again this year down at the Badin Lake Group Camp, which is this weekend. I thought about going, but don't own a Full Size Jeep right now, and I don't want to get another jeep bug... yet...

Jeep guys usually go by technical (manufacturer) designations such as TJ, YJ, JK, ZJ, ect. A Full Size Jeep runs on the SJ platform. These include the Wagoners, J10\J20\J1000\J2000\J3000, Gladiator, the big Cherokees, Grand Wag's and the M715

78 with a 60's Grille- Gladiator style

In NC we have a great resource for the FSJ. Jake's Fullsize Jeep Junkyard, just outside of Little Switzerland. Jake's a good old guy with one arm and a plate in his head. Met him of off the IFSJA forums, goes by the username Tanker there.

So who is in for October?

So it looks like any weekend in October is good with everyone so far, though James is iffy. Just so we can start putting in for camp sites. How does the weekend of 14-15 sound. No particular reason why I picked this one over any of the others, just wanted to keep the discussion on dates going. If we have reason to change we can. It looks like some of our regular sites are still available.

I would add a poll to the thread, but can't figure out how.

The 14th is my kids B-day weekend.

Looks like the 7th or 21st might work for me. Maybe even the 28th.

But yall do what works best for the entire group.

It's fine by me 20th through the 22nd Looks to be good.

Any others that might have difficulty with those dates, or other dates would work better?

Works for me. We get back from another 8 days at Warrior Creek on the 10th.
Are we ready to make reservations?

Our normal spots on the lower loop are mostly reserved already.
Looks like we may need to move to the upper loop or the other side of lower.
