Dennis Carpenter NOS Y block heads
OK guys anybody out there have any experience with the nos y block heads Dennis Carpenter has for sale. Advertised as original ford items but was informed they are military surplus acquired from the Jordan government.
They come bare and the price is right at 100.00 per head.
I will be installing them on my 60 f100 4x4 with a 292.

It depends on what heads they are. There are several variations. 57-59 had 3 variations considered the best as they had big valves and good runners (chamber sized varied) Ealier and later had much smaller valves and lower compression. Ford America last used a Y block in the 64 pickups and trucks. Other countries like Brazil continued installing them for a couple decades after that.
I see they are also selling sets of pistons on ebay for $100

About 6 years ago, Green Sales bought several boxcar loads of surplus Ford parts from Jordan, then had them shipped to their location in Cincinnati OH
Since the vehicles that these parts had originally been purchased for had been replaced with newer vehicles, Jordan had no use for the remaining parts.
