Do you have the fender hole as well? What about the snorkel, did you remove the forward piece of that making the air channel shorter?
I didn't do the fender mod or change the snorkel yet, but I removed the intake tube from the filter housing, eliminating ALL restrictions...for about a mile to test for any restrictions.
The filter attached to the housing is not what I recommend. The filter housing has the "raw" air that the internal filter will clean. The "lid" of the filter housing is the only place where the air is already clean.
i like that extra vent expa! where did you find that? Does anyone know if this would be of any help to my s&b intake?
I picked that stuff up at Autozone. After a week with nearly 6hrs each way over lots of mountains, my filter minder is now sucking only about 1/4 closed, which I figure is about right for the age of the filter.
It could still be restricted some, but I won't know that until I find and fix my boost leak (?) to allow it to go over 26psi.
It looks sharp, is pre-AIS filter element, and doesn't seem to hurt being "double filtered"
How it works out long term will remain to be seen
Now I have to deal with ANOTHER failed NAPA alternator 14.5-15v is not good. Started on the way home last night, continued this am, but was better for a while...until things heated up.
