What's with the new look?
So I'm in Myrtle Beach on vacation and noticing a ton of younger adults and kids driving lifted trucks with the rear ended sagging so much it's creating a reverse take close to 3' difference. I'm assuming it's done w air bags. How has this become a new look? I don't understand it, I feel like slapping everyone of them in the face. Of course they're a bunch of mall crawlers.

Hope you had fun in Myrtle Beach. Went there once when I was in the service. We pulled into the parking lot and there was a sign listing 10 or more things NOT to do. At the bottom it said 'Have Fun' (how?))
As to the stance, when I was in my teens, I saw at least one cycle of
front down, rear down, and just lowered -- depending on which was 'the latest'.
Not sure that any of them were much fun to drive.

An old thread, but I fear I may have inadvertently started this trend. Back in the 80's I was driving a 62 F100 Unibody short bed that I wanted to lift. Well since my kingpins were shot on the straight axle I started in the front. I slid a PowerWagon 4X4 front axle and a pair of leaf springs in, this lifted the front about four inches. I didn't have the money to raise the rear to match, being a broke kid. So I drove it that way for most of a year and well, I got around and lot's of people saw the truck with the funny lift. Many commented because they had never seen it before. Within a year I started seeing more and more trucks with that rake, ON PURPOSE. Me, I got the cash together for springs and shocks and leveled my truck out. Fools are still copying my temporary setback to this day.

Heh, it made it all the way to the east coast and became the Carolina squat. I see them every once in a while and all I can do is SMH in disbelief. I've also noticed a lot of them are putting HID bulbs in their halogen housings which blind the hell out of others on the road except those squatters. I imagine the raccoons in the trees and low flying aircraft pilots aren't too happy though.
