I keep having to re-arch my caliper spring to take slop out of the top of the caliper. So much so, that I had to weld on a piece of steel to the "I" bar to keep the caliper in place. Now, it needs more bend to the spring.....again.
My friend was swearing they make caliper shims. I can't find any such thing and 78-79 dana 60 caliper mounts are not easy to come by nor cheap.
major movement. I can hear it and feel it in the steering wheel. Touch the brakes and its gone. The bottom of the caliper is tight and the top moves excessively (front to back). I can physically move it by hand and make a racquet.
I had the same issue on the passenger side. I used some shim stock I had. After cutting it into shape and sliding in the top gap the I beam and spring had to be pounded in. All still tight after 6 months of daily driving.
Haha. I had the opposite problem it took me an hour to just try and get the passenger front caliper off. My problem is I need to replace the brake houses.
