I bet the first cut windshield cracked on the drivers side, and the second one cracked on the passengers side, and he just made lemonade out of the lemons. I like the grill treatment as well.
Chop top and kept the vent windows!
The split windows look fairly flat. Avoids cutting down a curved windshield.
Mine has a lexan windshield currently. I need to find a cheap stock one to try cutting it down. (Something the prior builder either didn't do or broke in the process)
A problem that I've run into is that some of the aftermarket windshields have a different curvature at the A-post area. I cut my original windshield just to see if I could do it....no problem......got a new windshield........cut it and discovered the curvature problem. If my original windshield didn't have deep wiper scratches I would have reused it. My glass guy even brought out another windshield and it curved differently too. Anybody know how many companies offer replacement windshields for 53-55 trucks?
That's good to know, Drew.
Looks like I'll try to find an original instead of cutting down a reproduction (unless someone can recommend a particular reproduction that matches the original).
Are all the '53-55 the same?
