I have a 2010 f-150. Started having issues with the blend door actuator located behind the radio so replaced that a couple months ago and fixed issue. Now the a/c will only blow through the defrost and floor vents. I replaced the lower blend door actuator thinking that might be the culprit, but did not fix the problem. Can anyone offer any suggestions on what the solution might be.

 

Does the actuator only install one way? By that I mean with the door in a certain position before you connect it and power it up the first time? I remember on one of the other Ford products you could install them with the door open or closed, then when you went to use it it would either break or not operate the door correctly. I remember actuators being returned as defective until we figured out it was an installation error. May have been a Tarus actuator.

 

Check around for a broken or damaged vacuum hose around the battery area.

 

it appears that it has a factory preset and you are unable to adjust or move the spindle, so only one way for it to fit in place.
