Installed fuel tank switching valve
Wasn't too bad of a job, except for the gallon of fuel that ran down my arm...
Hard to believe that little part cost me $180! None of the local parts stores had the correct unit, so I bit the bullet and went to the Ford dealer.
Anyway, thanks to those of you who offered input/advice on my situation. I'm all fixed up now!
just wondering if you knew where the tank selector might be located on the 89 , cnat get either pump in dual tank system to run on 7.5 l motor however i have power and the high pressure pump runs , just neither of the low pressure pumps run , any help ?
The in-tank pumps are probably bad and the tanks must be removed to replace them.
Sometimes it possible to reach over the top of the center tank and remove the electrical connector to see if there is fuel pump voltage at the plug, if so, the it's replacement time.
I have seen these trucks run with only the high pressure pump working but not very well.
