This forum would be so much better if there were sub-forums (categories).

This forum needs sub-forums so specific topics like:
* Ford Super Duty (2017) info & ordering
* Post your truck here
* Exterior
* Interior
* Electronics
* Suspension
* Mods
* Towing!!!
* Etc.

And searching for info would be much better too.

I know the 2017 Super Duty forum is a sub-forum of the Super Duty forum which is a sub-forum of Ford Trucks, etc. but the only problem with this forum is not having sub-forums.

I hope the mods can do something about this (and I messaged one of them).

I was a member of a forum that completely died because of sub forums. It kills activity and folks only look in the forums they have a question in. No one goes through each one and checks to see if someone posted something of interest in each one. FTE already has tons of forums for every generation... this currently is the modern one, but you get plenty of activity in the old truck forums too... but most folks here never even look at the classic trucks!

 

I think this forum is great. I have had so many questions answered just by reading the forum. And I have learned all kinds of valuable information while I am waiting for my truck to come in. Thanks again to all that contribute.

This forum does however need a few stickies....

These are all pretty common topics for many of us here and would make finding them much easier.
*Show some fun pics of your truck (easy place to check out some truck pics)
*Forescan (all things forescan related)
*Lifted trucks (discuss all things lift related)
*Stock with big meat (discuss adding tires with stock or only level)

 

Add me to the NO on sub-forums... I know there is a lot of great info in the towing forum, but I very seldom check it. Also, there is lots of time that I come to this forum and end up reading lots of things that I wasn't planning on looking for just because the title is interesting.

 

FTE already has a Towing forum, 2 applicable engine forums, and an electronics forum.

 

you could mark all topics as read.

Powerstroke is already set up like that. It has maybe 10% of the activity that we have here. I like this forum the way it is.

You could do what you are wanting with tags, rather than subforums. Tags are not often used, though. Perhaps it could be coded to require the selection of a tag or "none" before posting a new topic.

 

I wish the search was better. Sometimes it is hard to find info unless you have the exact phrase.....

 

I stumbled across this forum a few years ago when looking for the answer to a problem with my 2001 F250. Found the layout to be great and keep coming back. I don't post much, but Ive learned TONS just from reading. Sometimes I'll read a thread about a topic that never crossed my mind, but because it was in front of me, I learned. I love what we have here and I'd hate to lose it.
