52 F2 front axle Disc conversion

Published the procedure used by two different FTE on how they did their homemade conversion.
F-2/F-3 Front Disc Brake Conversion
These were before aftermarket kits for the larger trucks were available. The TSM kit looks like the way to go. I'm running all stock on my '49 F-2 but I know the drums won't last forever and when the time comes I'm going to go with the discs.

Yes, I read the posts on using F250 upgrades and felt it was to difficult and beyond my welding abilities. I believe I will try the kit somewhere along the line. Currently I have just finished cleaning up the frame, changing the rearend to a Dana 60, upgrading and repairing the suspension and putting a protective coat of paint on it.

Yeah, it's nice when someone comes along that does all the thinking and making of the parts. Not all of us have the knowledge or equipment to do some of this stuff. It's also nice when it's priced affordably. I don't think their kit is priced bad at all. Just think of the time it would take to make yourself with all the trial and error. Saves time to work on something else.

I did the TSM system on my F3. They actually used my spindles to develope the F3 brackets and gave me a nice discount to use them. They worked very well and are good people to deal with. I will say the instruction sheet left a lot to be desired but I expected that as mine were the first one done. They asked me to send pics at each step so if they used them the instructions may be ok now. About two years later I went to a Jag front end and sold the TSM to another member who I beleive is still happy with them. If I can find pics I will PM them to you.

thanks for all the helpful input. Especially the photo's. If I could find the parts locally I'm sure it would cost near as much as the TSM kit, and as it was put so well, I'm sure I would make multiple mistakes requiring several do overs.
I probably would spend close to $500 in beer trying to deal with the stress. Much rather drink the beer to celebrate.
Again, thanks
