It's between the handbrake drum and the rear of the transmission, on the passenger side. Not real easy to get to though.

I need to start replacing my glass and weatherstripping. This last deluge of rain has shown some leaks.

Does anyone in the Seattle area have a good contact for a shop that does it?

Or anyone in the Seattle area willing to give me a hand to put in some glass for some bbq and suds?

Any good glass shop should be able to handle that. I used Auto Glass Clinic in Poulsbo.

 

BJ helped me install mine. It was pretty straight forward. Too bad I'm not near Seattle, I could use some BBQ.
Do you have a windshield? Local glass shops won't have them. You will need to order from a specialty shop that deals in classic vehicles. Shipping is about as much as the windshield. I was fortunate that a vendor had one in stock at a swap meet.

 

Novus Auto Glass in Silverdale came out and installed the glass I ordered from LMC. They also said they can custom make any flat glass windows (wish I had known that beforehand). Check with other Novus shops around Seattle. Where 'bouts are you in Seattle? I'm in Bothell next to Kenmore.
If I were to do it again (and I probably will), I would just have them make a pattern and cut the glass, and install them. The rear window was so tight he literally had to use a soft faced hammer to install it. The front window has gaps at the corners that the rubber seal doesn't even cover. I really don't know which to blame for it, the seal (from DC), or the glass (from LMC).

 

I was planning on using Steele Rubber weatherstripping. They come recommended and are one piece units...

As far as glass, I was going to go with Mid-Fiftys windshield and Slider back window.

Thoughts on either products?

I'll give you glass shops a call, so far no one has wanted to deal with the age of the truck.

That is a really tight fit!
I`m glad I have 16 ft wide doors or else I`d never get my tandem in my shop.

 

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up finding a place called Leading Edge Auto Glass, that is going to come out and do it. Also sounds like he has done several in the Seattle area.

I have two questions:

1. Does anyone have an original dash cluster? Or spare original gas and speedometer gauges?

2. I found a local flathead V8 engine for sale, supposedly rebuilt. I was thinking of picking it up so I can build an engine for the F600 and don't have to take her out of service. She has been very useful hauling loads and driving in town...

Welcome, welcome, and congratulations. You have not only found a wonderful truck, but also the best site to learn and share your passion for it, BAR NONE! Your truck brings back fond memories of when I was 15 and working my way thru High School. The company had three dump trucks one similar to yours but I think it had a smaller box, a cab over GMC that I hated because of its extremely short wheel base, and a real old, international. The ford was my absolute favorite truck to make deliveries in (until the boss's insurance found that a kid was operating it, lol) I'm a little late with the welcome, but I just found the thread

 

Circumstances are changing and I may be selling the truck.... I haven't listed it yet, but wanted to put out some feelers to see if anyone on here is interested in the project? She still runs wonderfully and operates great!
