Engine Swap- '96 351 into a '94 302
Hello,
So I've acquired a 351 that came out of a '96 F250, manual transmission. I have the complete assembly and am in the process of rebuilding it. It's going into my '94 302, automatic and is MAF. I have proper 28 oz flexplate and harmonic balancer ready for the swap. I know I won't be able to swap everything over from the 302 to the new 351 in regards to accessories but planned on reusing all 302 sensors and computer for the new 351, but I just noticed a couple old posts where it might be required that I'll need a different PCM/ECM for this particular setup.
I thought I did all the research and had a good grasp on what is involved but now I have some doubts. Or am I able to reuse my current 302 computer since the truck is MAF?

You can use the 5.0 computer since it is MAF just be sure not to use any wiring that came with the 5.8, and you can also use the accessory brackets from the 5.0 they bolt on the same way but will require a longer belt since the 5.8 motor is taller and wider. Also don't forget to remove the bearing from the end of the crank in the 351, it will be in the way of the torque converter snout when you go to mate them.

Thanks Paul, I was hoping to get your input. I'm very happy that I won't have to use the wiring harness from 351.
But I'm a bit confused by your last sentence. Will I have to mate engine to transmission with oil pan off, then install rear crank main bearing? Or are you referring to a pilot bearing? Additional guidance is greatly appreciated!
