Popped the hot side intercooler tube.

So folks know - I received my o-ring and clip on Monday - which is good - I sent them my receipt late Thursday, so pretty quick. I'm a weekend warrior so I'll be putting the Mishimoto on this weekend. Anyone got any tips on the uninstall of the stock pipe / install of the Mishimoto? As part of my feedback from my support case I did whine a bit about no install instructions.

Start by putting the aluminum pipe on the throttle body, then move to the bottom and work up. Finally, slide the last rubber piece away from the throttle body, slip the 4" clamp on the aluminum pipe, then position the rubber piece onto the throttle body adapter. The first time, I took my 4" clamp apart and lost the spring. Doing it like above, you won't have to take any clamps apart and risk losing parts.

Well last night I joined the world of the Mishimoto cold side intercooler pipes - turned out to be quite the adventure. I wound up using the 2 original Ford hose clamps. I think they sent me 1 wrong sized clamp. I was also not happy with the bottom connection and some how stripped that clamp. I wound up under the truck holding the hose on while my son tightened the clamp. Took it for a spin and 'boosted' to over 10lbs 3 or 4 times so I'm pretty satisfied that I was successful. Couple observations / has anyone else seen this:
1st - thankfully I waited for the O-ring - there wasn't one on the truck. Or it came off when I removed the factory pipe and the truck ate it. There was a black circle on the throttle body where it looked like it was there but for the life of me I can't find it.
The other thing that amazed me was the crud in the throttle body. As I was cleaning it the thought crossed my mind if I should be - was it grease that lubracated the butterfly? Used almost an entire can of brake cleaner - I didn't spray the cleaner into the throttle body - soaked multiple rags and used the rag to remove the crap. I didn't want the brake cleaner / crud mixture drooling into wherever the throttle body goes. Bottom was completely clean. Anyone else see this / have a ton of crud on the throttle body?
I used 303 on the O-ring and silicone pipes - everything slid on nicely.
I may see if I can get a couple larger Ford clamps - the Mishimoto ones are flimsy and cheap not to mention metric. I'm just not sure I want to go through that ordeal again to replace 2 clamps - I would optically like them to be the same

I had a replacement set of Diesel Site clamps that I carry with me everywhere, coming from the 6.4 days. It was an aftermarket set of boots that were delivered a week before I traded it, so I used those clamps.
As far as the throttle body and the CAC hose, that's what the blowby on these truck does. Gunks up the tubes. Some have even put on a vent kit to stop it. some don't like the idea of venting the CCV to the outside, but some don't care an do it. From what I understand, theirs stays MUCH cleaner.

This was very helpful! I just received the hot and cold replacement tubes from AFE, found a new but open box on ebay for half the price.
I recently had mine replaced and spent a ton at the dealer to have it fixed. (big mistake) I will be replacing these come this weekend. I am still shocked there isn't a video or photo instructions of this yet out there.

So, is the Rudy's kit worth it, or is it worth spending more on the mishimoto or H&S kits? My 2016 F550 blew the tube in half with only 20k miles on it. Dealership is replacing under warranty, but due to this, and the subsequent failure of the DPF as a result, I'm without my work truck for 4 days! I'm replacing this factory tube before this can happen again and cost me any more downtime! I like the lower price of the Rudy's kit, but only if it holds up as well as the others!
